phabricator replies by e-mail issue coming from noreply@phabricator.whonix.org
Closed, InvalidPublic

Description

@dau had some issues. See T659#13168.

I am getting mails from:

phabricator+T659+randomstring+randomstring@phabricator.whonix.org

phabricator e-mail replies work for me.

@dau is getting mails from:

noreply@phabricator.whonix.org

Therefore replies by e-mail don't work.

Any idea? @fortasse

The From: and Reply-to: headers should be different. The From: noreply@phabricator.whonix.org is expected. @dau, what does your Reply-to: header say?

I suspect this is a mail client issue, I haven't made any changes to phabricator's mail configuration.

Correct, I receive notifications from noreply@phabricator.whonix.org. The reply was indeed sent

To: phabricator+T659+randomstring+randomstring@phabricator.whonix.org

and

In-Reply-To: 86597b9685976b1e05d10fc75f89ed83@localhost.localdomain

Also, my mail client is mutt.

Thanks!

I think it's because you started with a quoted line. I'm testing this
theory now.

This is an email reply with a "quoted" first line

And here is a regular line

How very odd. This is apparently a known issue upstream: https://secure.phabricator.com/T5181.

Apparently my fake quoted line doesn't break it since it's not an actual quote? I'm very confused, but I guess it's not very high priority for upstream to fix.

Was the text you sent exactly the following?

> This is an email reply with a "quoted" first line

Well, at least personally I do not think it's a high priority issue as well. I'm fine by using the web interface. Should we schedule a reminder to ask them about it or something like that?
