Alright, we won't whitelist onionshare and others by default and planned to document in the wiki to add additional profiles.
Now that @joysn1980 sorted out add /etc/tor-controlport-filter.d configuration drop-in snippet configuration extension feature (T576), and now that the onionshare profile has just now been completed by me, I think it is better to ship the profile in /usr/share/tor-controlport-filter/examples/40_onionshare.yml. That way the user does not have to copy it from the wiki.
Enabling the profile would boil down to:
sudo cp /usr/share/tor-controlport-filter/examples/40_onionshare.yml /etc/tor-controlport-filter.d
Or perhaps a symlink would be even better?
We could even consider simplification of that copy [or symlink] command by providing a script to do that task or in a much later release even a gui to do that?
